Clement Perry - StereoTimes (see full show coverage here) - ... the dCS Puccini SACD/CD single-box player ($20k), accompanied by the mighty duo in the Lamm L2 Ref preamp ($15k) and M1.2 mono amplifiers ($22k). Loudspeakers, shown in beautiful African Pyramid Mahogany, are the Tidal Piano of Denmark ($40k). The room was being represented by The Voice That Is proprietor Doug White, east coast dealer extraordinaire and Tidal importer Daniel Barnum of Half Note Audio.
The sound, as to be expected from previous events, was open, detailed and, yet harmoniously rich. Yeah, I thought to myself "I could easily live with this setup." Nicely done."
Jonathan Valin -- The Absolute Sound AVGuide - Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, Part Three: Mixed Bags - Sat, 10/18/2008 -
" ... the $39k Tidal Piano two-and-half-way sounded superb in Room 538; much more open, natural, and realistic. Perhaps it was the dCS Puccini used with the Pianos as a source that made some of the difference."
Here are some more comments found on the web by attendee who love music:
"Tidal Piano in The Voice That Is: These speakers were absolutely stunning in person. Gorgeous, exquisite finish. I hoped the sound would match its looks and was only a little disappointed. Beautiful-sounding as well, at least for non-bassy music. So clear, so fluid, and so delicate. Excellent transients. I spun tracks from Alison Krauss, The Village [OST], Porcupine Tree, and Priscilla Ahn. The soundstage wasn't overly big but it was very convincing and very complete - it filled in the space between the speakers, behind them, and in front. I could swear every element of the orchestra was in the room if I closed my eyes. And it was superb at low-volume, and maintained dynamic integrity and clarity simultaneously. And on Porcupine Tree, it thrashed just as well and threw down the band with power. The only major disappointment was the sub-50 Hz bass, it was barely there. Aside from that, really an amazing speaker - it was a glory to behold how clear it was and how well it made treble sparkle without harshness. As soon as I heard it, it entered my dreams."
"I then heard Tidal speakers for the 1st time... These are beautiful finished speakers. The wood work is gorgeous. Something special."
... in the adjoining room were a slightly smaller set of Tidal speakers. These are called the Pianos. These had Lamm M1.2 amps, w. the DCS Puccini as source. I don't know anything about price but this was a great sounding room. As a system it just worked. Both rooms were the same size, but maybe the smaller speaker was better in the room. This is the 1st time I liked the Lamm M1.2s. I love the ML2.1s but the 1.2s always left me lacking at shows w. Kharma. Not now. They sounded great. Dynamic, not dark, but not in your face. Great bass. A nice system. The Puccini obviously is excellent, as many have been saying. A nice liquid sound, that is not to warm and didn't have any bloat." - Dgad
August 2008 - Preliminary Announcement - Second Wave for Tidal's New Contriva Diacera Speaker
We have received and installed "The World's First" pair of the "New Tidal Contriva Diacera" speakers. http://www.tidal-audio.com/english/startenglishprodukte.htm.
You may have heard the buzz about the debut of the new Tidal Contriva at January 2008 CES. The New Tidal Contriva Diacera (DIAmond CERAmic) version is physically the same Contriva however it incorporates a Diamond Tweeter and an advanced crossover derived from their larger sibling the Sunray. See http://www.tidal-audio.com/english/startenglish.htm Tidal was the first company to work with the Diamond tweeter. Being located very close to the factory, Tidal Staff worked closely with the engineers in the development of this driver and truly know how to properly utilize the design. Extended and smooth in operation, Tidal's Diamond tweeters are never beamy, peaky or bright.
Images shown highlight the speaker in Premium African Pyramided Mahogany in a Debut Special Black Stain finish made especially for TVTI making them unique and a " Collector's Edition." They are simply stunning.
Fresh out of their specially built ATA cases, you can tell these are truly special. All Tidal speakers have superior fit and finish compared to speakers at similar and greater price points. Surprisingly, with less than one hundred hours on the Diacera, the speakers are in total control and sonically satisfying. The resolving power of this speaker is uncanny and I continue to rediscover my reference library since their installation.
The Tidal Contriva Diacera is easy to drive, musically accurate, and are awesome imagers. My experience with all Tidal speakers is that they bring out the best in every component attached to them. The Contriva Diacera takes that to a whole new level.
Driven by reference level electronics, this audition room has NEVER sounded so good. In a word, these speakers are AMAZING!

Esoteric X01 Limited; Argento Serenity Reference Interconnect Cable; Argento Master Reference Speaker cable; FLOW power cords; ASR Emitter II Exclusive B amplification; Lamm Industries L2 Reference Preamp and M1.2 Reference amps; Epiphany Equipment Stand; Shakti Hallographs

January/February 2008 - JazzTimes Mazazine - Mike Quinn's article on the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest lists our room in his column. The room featured the AMR CD plater, ESP Bodhran Speakers and Argento Audio Cables. "...This was a room I returned to several times as it offered true sonic relief from the audio overload experienced in many demosit was just pure musical pleasure to listen to CDs on this equipment."
October 2007 - Comments from our first successful exhibit at the Rocky mountain Audio Fest, Denver , CO
................."Another superior room: The ESP Loudspeakers/LAMM Industries/Critical Mass Systems/Argento Audio Cables/Matrx Systems/Abingdon Music Research/Halfnote Audio space. (Stop take breath.) The room stack: AMR CD-77 CD player and a LAMM LL2 preamp. These fed a pair of the superb LAMM M1.2 Reference hybrid amplifiers (my notes on these in the very near future) via Argento Audio cables, and on to a pair of ESP Bodhran SE speakers.
..............."I have to say that I love the LAMM M1.2 Ref hybrid monos... Intelligently designed, moderately powerful (110 WPC into a nominal 8 Ohms), and built like a tank, the M1.2's really hit the sweet tonal spot for me. Very articulate, but never dryshaken, but not stirred! A great combo with the LL2, of course, but the ESPs clearly dug the connection, as well. Synergy galore."

Larry Borden's favorites - http://www.stereotimes.com/RM2007.shtml
Of dynamic driver speakers, the ESP Concert Grands are amongst my favorites. Displaying a warmth and ease reminiscent of the Rogers LS6 monitor, they always struck me a the kind of speaker one could listen to for hours without growing weary. Their $40,000+ price tag however, does put a bit of a damper on things. I was thus delighted to hear the smaller version, the $16,000 Bodhrans, which seem to have much of the magic of the larger version.
Bill Wells - http://www.stereotimes.com/RM2007BW.shtml
My very first stop was to check in with the folks at the Matrx Systems exhibit. This was a first time ever exhibit for this company at RMAF and the room was filled with some wonderful products. There featured speakers were the ESP Bodhran SE loudspeakers and were powered by Lamm electronics. Additionally, the system was wired together with Argento Audio cables throughout.
As I entered the room, I was quickly greeted by mostly familiar faces and one or two new ones. Additionally, I quickly became aware of a sound reminiscent of the classic ESP sound. The Bodhrans, priced at $16,000, look quite similar to the magnificent ESP flagship Concert Grand Si loudspeakers, and can sound wonderful mated to the right electronics, cables and fed with a really good music source. First and foremost, these speakers provide a realistically very authentic soundstage that is wonderfully filled with music. No doubt the superb electronics used during this year’s exhibit (i.e., Lamm M1.2 Reference mono blocks and LL2 Deluxe preamp), outstanding Argento Audio cables (Serenity interconnects/speaker cables and Flow power cords), Avatar Audio AMR CD-77 CD player helped achieve the good sound.
Clement Perry - http://www.stereotimes.com/RM2007CPa.shtml
Seems pretty unanimous when a product gets voted three out of three thus was the case with the ESP Bodhran loudspeakers ($16k). Like their bigger sibling in the mighty Concert Grands, these babies love to soundstage and throw images further back than almost any loudspeaker I've heard regardless of their cost. To leave out the fact this room was using state of the art electronics would be a crime and we all know how good Lamm electronics are, but the Abbingdon Music Research CD Player wasn't no slouch either. This was one of the few rooms I found myself utterly relaxed and comfortable in.
Let the Music Continue!

When I entered the room assembled by Matrix Systems of Pennsylvania, ... was playing a recording of jazz vocalist Mary Stallings (Maxx Jazz). I was immediately captivated, both by the sound, and by Stallings' artistry. When Joe recognized me and asked me if I wanted to play some of my own music, "No way!" I exclaimed. "Let the music continue." Read the complete entry here.
